Parenting Pointers: Lower the Bar

Here's a tip I learned from a SAHM friend of mine with four kids. Lower the bar. You might not be able to always be Supermom. Maybe someone else in your kid's class brings in perfect homemade goodies for the bake sale. Maybe someone else's mom or dad is able to attend every single teeball game. Maybe someone esle's kids always wear perfectly coordinating outfits. That doesn't mean you need to measure up to that. Decide what your one or two big parenting priorities are going to be, and if those are fulfilled, you're doing a good job.

Personally, if I think that kids are safe and overall happy, then their parents are doing an excellent job. The rest is just icing on the cake! So pat yourself on the back if your kids know that you love them - you're a success!
