I recently had the opportunity to try out NutraSea Kids and NutraSea +D.
First of all, if you aren't aware of of what fish oil is, it's a compound that contains high levels of omega 3, which are considered to be very health for your heart, brain, bones, and teeth. The two NutraSea products I tried also contain vitamin D, which is a compound your body makes in sunlight, but many people don't get enough of (especially kids) - the average diet contains only 100 IU, while the current recommendation is at least 200 IU/day (and it's extremely difficult to overdose on, so taking extra won't hurt you). Insufficient vitamin D has been linked to several types of cancer and heart health.
If you're considering taking omega-3 and/or vitamin D, this is a nice product that combines the two in one. They are flavored, but I wouldn't recommend taking them alone. The flavor makes it tolerable, and even my toddler was ok with them, but they leave an oily feeling in the mouth, and the taste is stronger as a scent and an aftertaste than an actual taste. The NutraSea Kids is berry flavored, and the NutraSea +D is apple flavored. (The difference between the two is that the kids' version also contains GLA and is designed for those 2-13 years old.) I pour it into her juice, and although it leaves an oily sheen on the top of the juice, it's not as noticeable as taking it straight.
The website also suggests using it in salad dressings, smoothies, pasta, and yogurt. If you or your kids have fish allergies, be sure to talk to your doctor before using NutraSea. They also independently test products for quality (and you can check your own lot number to see results).
In my area, NutraSea is only sold at Vitamin Shoppe stores, but they have an easy locator to see where it is in your area.
