Wayfounder is a new company founded by Damon D’Amore, former Wall Street trader and broadcast producer of
The Apprentice and Undercover Boss. It's for nontrepreneurs in the USA – people who have great
ideas in different categories, but no real means of bringing these great
ideas to the market. The first quarterly competition
is designed to attract these “nontrepreneurs” who aren’t able to assume
the risks inherent to in founding a new company.
Each winner has the
opportunity to be funded with a cash prize of $10k, a commitment to
spend up to $50k to bring the product to the market and if the product
or service exhibits the promise of scaling up to
a product line, Wayfounder will commit up to $250k to hire an acting CEO for the company.
WayFounder is backed by an experienced board including Jeffrey Hayzlett: CEO of
The Hayzlett Group, Former CMO of Kodak and host of
C-Suite on Bloomberg TV and Jeff Pulver: Founder of #140 Conference, Co-founder of Vonage.
