Book Nook: What the Fun? 427 Simple Ways to Have Fantastic Family Fun

Time Magazine is now calling parenting America’s most competitive adult sport as we drown in endless athletic schedules, music lessons, and enrichment activities. In all of this busy-ness it can be easy to lose a sense of fun - which can affect mood as well as social and emotional development. But sometimes it's hard as a parent to capture an idea of fun.

I recently had a chance to review What the Fun? by Donna Bozzo. The book has hundreds of ways to throw fun in every day. Some of the tips are great for when you're waiting and don't have a lot of materials, some are easy to do with every day objects, and some require a bit more planning. There are tips that are free, and some ideas to look and see if they exist in your hometown. A lot of them I had done before (or at least heard of) but there were plenty of new ideas as well. There are ideas for families with kids of all ages.

The book makes a perfect addition to summer reading. It doesn't take long to skim through a chapter and get ideas, and it certainly is a fun way to make your family laugh a little more.
