Slot-car maker Carrera has been around for decades, and this past year they have seen a rapid increase in sales as families are looking for new activities to do at home. I had a chance to see one of their slot car toys (they make many different options with licensed characters from popular TV shows and video games).
In a way it sounds like slot cars wouldn't be all that exciting - the cars just go around the same track. Oddly enough, though, they are fun - there's something quite pleasing about a smooth run around the track, and it can also be fun to push the speed and race another person without getting too out of control!
