Giveaway: Writers of the Future

I have reviewed several copies of the Writers of the Future anthology over the years.

They recently started a free online writing workshop to help new writers that is lead by Orson Scott Card, Tim Powers and David Farland. There's also a writing podcast that may be helpful.

The books are a collection of the winning stories in the contest for new authors of science fiction, fantasy, and horror.

If you like entering writing contests, you might be interested in the Writers of the Future contest

Winning stories are selected by the masters in the field and published in the annual anthology.

It is free to enter, and you retain all publication rights.

Prizes of $1000, $750 and $500 are awarded every quarter. Out of the four 1st Place winners, the judges select one story as the grand prize winner who receives the L. Ron Hubbard Golden Pen Award and an additional $5000 cash prize.

The contest is judged blind, meaning all identifying marks are removed before the judges see the manuscripts, so all races, genders, and ages are competing on equal ground on the merit of their story alone.

I have a chance to give away a copy of the latest book - if you'd like to enter, leave a comment with what you love most about science fiction, fantasy, or horror stories. Deadline is November 1st.
