Music Minute - Anne Wilson: Stars

PLATINUM-certified, GRAMMY-nominated artist and songwriter Anne Wilson looks skyward with the release of “Stars,” the title track of her highly anticipated third album arriving Oct. 17 via Capitol Christian Music Group. The single is accompanied by a cinematic new music video, available now, and the unveiling of the album's full 12-song tracklist – one of Wilson's most personal collections yet.

Co-written with Matthew West and Jeff Pardo, title-track “Stars” intertwines her childhood dream of becoming an astronaut with the real-life journey she has walked – grappling with the loss of her brother Jacob, choosing to hold onto faith in the aftermath and learning to see God's presence reflected in both the night sky and her own story. Anchored by the lyric “Dreamers never stop dreaming, believers keep on believing… I was still made for the stars,” Wilson sets the tone for her forthcoming third album, a project shaped by themes of grief, resilience, wonder and a faith that endures through life's most difficult seasons. The accompanying music video expands on those themes, pairing Wilson's vulnerable performance with celestial imagery that transforms intimate moments into sweeping visions of hope and light.

Across its 12 tracks – all co-written by Wilson – Stars finds the Kentucky native stepping fully into her own as a storyteller, blending the grit of country with the hope of faith in a way that is entirely her own. The coming-of-age collection is poised to bring together frequent collaborators Jeff Pardo and Matthew West, alongside Trannie Anderson, Blake Pendergrass, Emily Weisband and Andy Albert. Produced by Pardo, with Jonathan Smith and Ross Copperman contributing on select tracks, Stars captures Wilson's most confident and compelling vision yet.

The release arrives during a landmark season for the award-winning artist who recently surpassed two billion career streams and an RIAA Gold certification for fan-favorite single “Sunday Sermons.” She was surprised with both accolades during her final weekend on the road opening stadiums for Morgan Wallen's I'm The Problem Tour. Last month, she also headlined a tornado recovery benefit in Eastern Kentucky, raising more than $100,000 for tornado recovery efforts. The one-night-only concert is still available to stream on-demand exclusively via VEEPS, with all proceeds benefiting tornado relief, here.

Wilson will bring the new songs to life on The STARS Tour, beginning Oct. 18 in Nashville at The Pinnacle. Tickets are available now at annewilsonofficial.com. In the weeks leading up to the record, Wilson will also give fans a 40-day journey with her new devotional Hey Girl, arriving Sept. 30. Written for young teens, the book draws from the lyrics of her empowering track “Hey Girl” to offer daily encouragement and reflection.

With Stars on the horizon, Wilson delivers her most panoramic work yet: a record of grief and growth, of wonder that refuses to dim and of faith that continues to guide her forward. Stay up to date at annewilsonofficial.com and keep up with her on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

ABOUT ANNE WILSON:
Anne Wilson makes music where faith and country meet, a rare space where honesty, grief and hope live side by side. At just 23, she has already crossed the 2 billion streams milestone and emerged as one of the most distinctive new voices in both Christian and country music.

Her third studio album, Stars, captures a young artist growing up on record. Shaped by the tragic loss of her brother Jacob, Wilson's faith could have been shattered — but instead it was strengthened. That tension, of wrestling with God yet still loving Jesus, defines her music and makes her profoundly relatable. “Faith isn't about never questioning,” she says. “It's about holding on in the middle of the storm.”

Stars threads together themes of grief, growth, maturity and wonder, carried by Wilson's soaring vocals and country-pop production. From the wide-eyed imagery of the title track to the raw prayer of “Carry Me” and the redemption arc of “Dead in the Water,” the album reflects both the hardship of loss and the joy of new perspective.

Alongside the album, Wilson will deliver her new music to fans in person on The STARS Tour. She's also releasing a 40-day Hey Girl devotional. Named after her encouraging anthem, the devotional is aimed at young readers, extending her message of identity and Christ-centered hope beyond the stage.

Anne Wilson is still becoming, still wrestling and still rejoicing – but Stars proves she's shining brighter not in spite of the struggle, but because of it.
