Consumer Critique: The Christian Parenting Handbook

As parents, we need all the ideas we can find. Each child is unique, and the same tools don’t work with every one. Furthermore, parenting ideas that had an impact last year may need some tweaking, because your child continues to develop and change.
This comes from the introduction of a new book, The Christian Parenting Handbook. I love that this book acknowledges that not every strategy will work for every parent. I love that it includes practical applications. And as a Christian parent, I love that it includes a Biblical basis for the principles of parenting that it promotes.
The book touches on a variety of topics, including consequences, consistency, spanking, and other adults in authority - sometimes with surprising insights or things that might seem to go against what other parenting manuals might say. However, I find it to be, overall, a very balanced, thoughtfully-written book. And the emphasis on the strategies in the book simply being tools parents can use reminds parents that if a particular strategy won't work for them, then don't use it.
You could pre-order the book now, but the authors would prefer you don't. Instead, you can buy the book from your choice of retailer (including Amazon.com) - and if you do, you can get a huge return. If you do, and send them your receipt, you'll get a ton of resources for free: The Christian Parenting Handbook electronic versions for iPad, Kindle, Nook or any mobile device, Say Goodbye to Whining, Complaining, and Bad Attitudes, in You and Your Kids Lesson #1 and #2, Teach Kids to Listen and Follow Instructions on Video, Workbook, MP3, Study Guide, and Children's Lesson, Correction Ideas that Touch the Heart on Video, Workbook, MP3, Study Guide, and Children's Lesson, Addressing Bad Attitudes in Kids on Video, Workbook, MP3, Study Guide, and Children’s Lesson, Everyday Parents CAN Raise Extraordinary Kids Session #1 on Video, MP3, Study Guide, and Children's Lesson, How to Use The Christian Parenting Handbook 30-minute Video.
