Consumer Critique: Lava Lamp

Did you know that the Lava Lamp is 50 years old? This icon of the 1960s (which I also remember still being around when I was growing up and again in college) is still around. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, they're releasing a limited edition Anniversary collection as well as a line of lamps inspired by The Beatles

They've updated with the times, with gold accents and updated technology. I received one as a thank-you for posting about it, and it does look modern and nostalgic at the same time. The Anniversary collection comes in in four sizes to fit a variety of rooms, and the Beatles lamps come in 5 designs inspired by the albums Help!, Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour and Yellow Submarine.Prices range from $20 to $120, so they make gifts for a variety of budgets. My husband was delighted when this came in the mail - he had one in college and loves the fun look.
