Giveaway: The Passover Surprise

Award-winning author Janet Ruth Heller recently wrote a middle-elementary book called The Passover Surprise (Fictive Press). In the book, Lisa and her little brother Jon are in a stamp collecting competition. Their father decides to give a large album to Jon, based on the idea that it's a boy's hobby, and Lisa has to learn how to discuss her feelings with her father in a calm and honest way. Her mother, her teacher, and her friends provide guidance to Lisa as her talk with her father and Passover, approach.

I had a chance to review the book, which is appropriate for all readers, not just those who celebrate Passover. The discussion guide in the back makes it useful for parents and teachers to encourage kids to think about their own experiences and empathize with the book, plus there's a glossary for those who aren't familiar with Jewish traditions.

I have a chance to give away a copy of the book. To enter, leave a comment with what intrigues you most about the story. Deadline is April 15th.
