As parents, we often expect that our kids will be a certain way - or at least fit within broad ideas of what we think our family will look like. However, that's not always the case, particularly for families with a special needs child. Andrew and Rachel Wilson have two children who were both diagnosed with regressive autism. The book is written from a very honest, sometimes raw perspective that is frank about the struggles of raising children with special needs, but also encouraging about the highs that they've experienced as well. They share lessons they've learned about joy and trials, ultimately with the focus on Christ and His strength to help cope with suffering.

I have a chance to give away a copy of this book. To enter, leave a comment with what has been most unexpected in your parenting journey. Deadline is July 15th.
