Book Nook: The Fearless Traveler's Guide to Wicked Places

I recently had the chance to review The Fearless Travelers' Guide to Wicked Places. This book, targeted to middle-grade readers, is a fantasy novel with just enough sense of suspense and adventure to keep kids reading, but not so much that it's too scary for kids to read.

In the book, Nell's mother is kidnapped by witches and turned into a bird. She needs to travel deep into the Wicked Places, the place where Nightmares are, to break the spell and not only save her mother, but the whole world.

My daughter enjoys fantasy books, and she has a spirit of adventure. This was a really fun book for her to read.

About the author:
Pete Begler lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters. He writes for movies and television, including the Hulu drama Chance.
