Did you know the human nose can detect at least one trillion distinct scents?
Kids are known for creating some of the stinkiest messes and now they are getting rewarded for it at the National Odor-Eaters Rotten Sneaker Contest hosted
at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Contestants from across the country are
competing to show off their foul smelling sneakers and a chance to win
the national title.
I had a chance to interview one of the judges, Master Sniffer George Aldrich. George is a Chemical Specialist for NASA space missions.
For the past 40 years George has performed odor-panel tests (better
known as smell missions) to prevent toxic odors from entering the
confined NASA crew environment.
