I recently had a chance to review Real Life Love by Michael Gibson. Although my husband and I are in a good place in our relationship, it's always interesting to me to read relationship books, just as sort of a check-up or to maintain the strong relationship. After all, good relationships take work.
The quote in the graphic says it all - service is an important component of relationships. This book looks at how real life differs from surface feelings. By learning to honor and forgive, seek understanding, celebrate even during struggles, and put others first, relationships thrive.
The book is rooted in Scriptural concepts, but it's appropriate for anyone, as so much of the book is simply practical advice for any relationship, whether or not the couple has a shared Christian faith. It's a good book to read if you want to move away from surface love and into something deeper.
