If you're a fan of Disney Pixar, you've likely heard of the newest film, Inside-Out. This novel film takes viewers inside the head of Riley, a preteen girl, as she navigates her family's move, and introduces us to the main players that make up her emotional state: joy, sadness, anger, disgust, and fear. Joy rules the roost, and understands the functions the others have - except sadness, which she can't quite figure out.
My girls were mixed on the movie. Both of them cried at the climax towards the end, but both of them said they wanted to watch it again. It was more emotional and less funny than many Pixar films, but it was still very nicely done. It showed the diversity and talent that Pixar has to be able to pull off a film that is family-friendly and entertaining, but with a little more serious twist. As a family, we'll definitely be adding this one to our collection when it comes out on DVD.
