Book Nook: Big, Bold, and Beautiful - Owning the Woman God Made You to Be

I recently had a chance to review Big, Bold, and Beautiful: Owning the Woman God Made You to Be. The book, written by Christian gospel singer Kierra Sheard-Kelly, shares her wisdom for young adults to help them to identify and nurture their goals, talents, and gifts and keep them on the right path.

This book was perfect for both of my girls. The chapters were easy for them to read, short enough that there weren't too many nuggets of wisdom in each one, but long enough that they felt they understood what she was saying. It was a positive, uplifting book, that touched on a lot of topics relevant to young women - goals, society's expectations vs. what really matters, self-love, and a confident faith. It's great for any young woman, especially those in a stage of transition.

Kierra Sheard-Kelly is a singer, songwriter, actress, and activist from Detroit, Michigan, who looks to express herself and inspire others in everything she does. Part of the next generation of the legendary gospel group the Clark Sisters, Kierra most recently released the Grammy-nominated album KIERRA.
