Caring Causes - Zakat Foundation of America rushes relief supplies to Libya following Storm Daniel

The death toll from flooding and other damage caused by Storm Daniel in Libya has exceeded 6,000 so far, and more than 10,000 people have been declared missing. Tens of thousands have been displaced, and entire neighborhoods have been swept away.

Zakat Foundation of America has already dispatched its emergency response team to provide critical supplies in Libya.

“Our emergency response team is rushing aid to Libya to feed, clothe, and provide medicine and supplies to survivors,” said Halil Demir, Zakat Foundation of America’s executive director. “Just as we’ve been doing in Morocco since the earthquake struck days ago and have done in Turkiye and around the world, Zakat Foundation of America is providing immediate disaster relief that will transition into long-term aid.”

Zakat Foundation of America’s emergency response team is already on the ground in Morocco, where a devastating earthquake claimed more than 2,900 lives. The nonprofit humanitarian organization has already delivered hundreds of food packages and hygiene kits in Morocco in response to the earthquake. In both Libya and Morocco, Zakat Foundation of America is working to establish tent villages as it did earlier this year after the earthquakes that struck Turkiye.

Donations for Libya and Morocco and will provide:

Medical supplies and hygiene kits ($35)

Tent and floor mat ($300)

Food pack for a family of five ($50)

Food packs for four families ($200)

100% Pledge

Zakat Foundation of America does not take any cost out of emergency funding. 100% of funds donated to Libya emergency relief will go directly to aid and assist; we do not take any administrative fees from emergency relief programs.
