Music Minute - Jamming with Jules!

Beloved children’s musician and content creator Jules! is thrilled to announce the August 23 release of their debut kids’ album, Jamming with Jules! This recording promises to be a cherished addition to family entertainment, connecting generations through the universal language of music.

Known to millions of kids and families worldwide as the non-binary co-star on Ms. Rachel’s immensely popular Songs for Littles YouTube series, Jules’s music opens minds and hearts, with catchy riffs and melodies that never fail to get both kids and adults singing along. Jules describes their sound as “Raffi meets Kacey Musgraves with a little rock and roll influence in the mix!”

“At a moment in time when screens feel unavoidable, I wanted to create an album that would engage kids’ imaginations without the need for any screens,” explains Jules. “I designed a musical journey with an arc that incorporates a wide variety of instruments, encourages movement and the expression of emotions, and concludes with a soft lullaby for relaxation. Kids will be up on their feet dancing and ready for sleep by the end.”

Jules continues, “It’s important to know that Jamming with Jules! is intended not just for kids, but also for the child within each adult, caretaker, and parent. They deserve the same love and care that they give to the kids in their lives.”

That same love and care went into the album’s recording and production. Jules joined forces with their former rock band, Boketto the Wolf, working closely with producer and former bandmate Catho, to come up with an exciting vision and sound for this project. Jamming with Jules! achieves a level of musical sophistication rarely heard in today’s kids’ music.

Magical and fun throughout, Jamming with Jules! incorporates social-emotional concepts that resonate with all ages. After kicking off with “Jam with Jules,” a theme song reminiscent of ‘90s children’s television, the album continues with tunes that express the utter joy of being our authentic selves, the importance of showing kindness to others, the delight of celebrating everyone’s differences, and even, in “Crabby Crab,” helpful hints for feeling better when those “big feelings” arise.

An album highlight, the exquisite “It’s Okay to Cry,” is truly for kids and adults alike, reminding listeners that it’s healthy to express emotions. This powerful song offers permission to cry, not only for kids, but also for those adults who weren’t encouraged to show emotions when they were children.

Jamming with Jules! will be available August 23 on all major platforms.
