Paired with vibrant illustrations by Ian Ward, the book (which was originally intended for younger readers, but which is finding favour across the generations) is a playful celebration of the ridiculous - perfect for anyone craving a little lightness in these changeling and conflicting times. These poems aren’t for study - they’re for pleasure, offering readers a chance to refresh their spirits and rediscover the value of laughter.
With the author encouraging readers to dip in anywhere, his inclusive verses are guaranteed to lift the mood and tickle the imagination.
Synopsis:
An album of poems that will freshen the spirit, put a smile on a world-weary face and produce that most valuable resource that the human mind and body has - laughter. Open any page and you will find poems which are always quirky, sometimes thought provoking and often very silly. These poems allow the mind to soar high, wide and into colourful unreality and abstract concepts.
Within this collection you will find poems which conjure up an Invisible Rat, Tom - a boy who explodes and even a Geometry Party. From an author who just loves embracing the ridiculous and is able to impart a sense of absurdity for pure enjoyment. The text is coupled with visual representations created by Ian Ward.
So help yourself to a small portion of the ridiculous and the absurd but always leave enough appetite to return to these gobble-up verses.
The author says:
“My book brings humour in the form of nonsense poems into our world. They reach out to folk of all ages and particularly those with a Milligan sense of fun. My poems, will I hope, freshen the spirit, put a smile on a world weary face and produce that most valuable resource that the human mind and has – laughter.”

About the Author:
Michael L White retired in 2004 to a life of golf, lawn green bowling, gardening and all the other bits that go with the autumn of life. He also did a bit of writing – scribbling poetry mainly – for his own pleasure. Then Gramps came along and took Michael’s life in a whole new direction.
