Brian Wells, who has worked with and produced fifteen TV movies, became concerned when he couldn't quality entertainment for his kids. He decided to write a book, and I got to review his debut, The League and the Lantern.

Its the first book in an adventure series that targets middle-school sleepovers. In the book, a dangerous organization disrupts a seventh-grade sleepover. Three classmates escape, finding themselves in a fight for survival in Chicago, solving a mystery that dates back to the Civil War.

For every book sold, a book is given to kids who can't afford their own copies. This book is a great, suspense-filled story that will help teach kids lessons in family, friendship, mercy, and compassion. Plus, by weaving in strong vocabulary and historic data, it's a secretly educational book too!
