I recently had the chance to review several new Christian books for kids from Zondervan Publishing
This devotional book is just about perfect for my girls' age. It's targeted towards girls in the tween demographic, but it was appropriate for my new teen as well. The devotional encourages a strong sense of self-worth and security in God's love, which can help with this sometimes awkward transition time. The devotions were Scripture-based and relevant to issues many girls face.
This was the fourth and final book in the Coin Slot Chronicles series. Even without reading the whole series, the book still worked, so I'm sure that the whole series would be great. It includes travel through time and the globe to solve mysteries, and is a book filled with positive values for kids to read without being preachy.
This is also a continuation of a series, this time as the second book in the Daniels Sisters series. It worked well as a stand alone book also. The book follows 10-year-old Ashton who has some goals for dancing, and needs to learn teamwork. It's a positive book for young girls to read.
This was a beautiful gift set of the NIV Bible. It's also targeted towards girls 8-12, especially those with a little more of an artistic mindset. It encourages coloring and journaling while reading the Bible, really making the words of the Bible personal to the reader as well as expressing creativity.
