Book Nook: Step-by-Step Studio - Drawing Concepts and Drawing Lifelike Subjects

I recently had the chance to review Step-by-Step Studio: Drawing Concepts and Step-by-Step Studio: Drawing Lifelike Subjects. These two books were great to review, since my daughter has been wanting to improve her abilities in drawing, especially lifelike people.

These two books are easy to follow. They live up to their title with lots of step-by-step instructions and an emphasis on actual drawing project. There's still plenty of flexibility for the artist to add his or her own personal flair on the drawings, and the books include a wide variety of subjects - still life, landscapes, animals, plants, and more.

I liked both of these books. Even though I'm nowhere near being able to draw at a proficient level, they did help me sit down and think about my drawing - and see some improvement. My daughter loved both of them - even though she's good at drawing already, she always enjoys learning more techniques and styles to improve.
