I saved $11 by doing laundry (line drying and washing cloth diapers).
I saved $15 grocery shopping (we ended up not able to go to all the stores). However, we got a great deal at Slumberland (which was why we didn't do our full shopping) - we paid about $1100 for about $1800 worth of furniture. This was our big splurge, and something we've been talking about since we moved to our new house, since we're still living with a lot of hand-me-downs and cheap-quality furniture. We also really needed the furniture; the futon we've been using is lumpy and falling apart, and we needed a good-quality table.
I received about $10 worth of rewards from previous efforts in emails and surveys (a Campbell's cookbook, and Outside, Prevention, American Baby, and Bon Appetit magazines).
I received $40 worth of stuff by Craigslisting (we traded an old mouse for 5 lbs of chicken breast and 2.5 lbs of tortilla-crusted tilapia filets, which worked out to a $40 value - based on prices at the local grocery store).
I received $6 in payout from Associated Content based on previous work.
I walked instead of driving twice, saving $2 and multitasking by getting my daily workout at the same time.
Total money made/saved: $784
