I've been asked to profile the Ringling Bros. circus. I was always fascinated by circus animals, clowns, trapeze artists, and the like when I was little. I still am amazed. Circuses often come under criticism for animal treatments, but they must meet with certain guidelines. Like in zoos, what people see in the animal shows is training animals do perform natural behaviors on cue. Ringling Bros publishes an FAQ about animals with its explanations of animal treatment.
