Thrifty Thursday: Slide Scanning
Do you or your family members have old slides that they want to preserve? One inexpensive way to do this is to use your digital camera if you don't have a scanner. Project the slide onto a white wall in a dark room. Set the camera so the image fills the frame. Take pictures, burn onto a CD or print, and enjoy! The quality won't be quite as good as using a scanner or professional service, but the cost is great. You can also use photo-editing software such as Apple's iPhoto or other freeware products will provide the basic tools you need to adjust contrast and make other fixes if necessary.
