The average home today contains over sixty-two chemicals – that’s more than a circa-1900 chemistry lab. (Data from Ideal Bite)
I'm a big supporter of just using vinegar and baking soda for cleaning. Here are some of the best recipes I've found:
Glass cleaner - 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon liquid soap or detergent, and 2 cups of water in a spray bottle.
All-purpose cleaner - equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle
Toilet cleaner - plain vinegar
Countertop stains - baking soda with a little bit of water to make a paste; let sit on the stain 15-30 minutes and scrub off
Oven cleaner - baking soda sprayed damp with water; let sit overnight and scrub off
