There are many different places to recycle e-waste (electronics, computers, etc). E-waste takes more effort (and usually more cash) to recycle than paper and bottles, but it is very much worth it to the environment. Here are several ways you can recycle e-waste.
CD Recycling for Free - accepts CDs and DVDs by mail. Pay only the cost of shipping to the site.
Green Disk - accepts nearly every possible type of e-waste, including CDs/DVDs, diskettes, VCR tapes, hard drives, Zip drives, jump drives, all types of ink and toner cartridges, all types of cell phones and PDAs (including chargers and accessories), cords, cables, computer chips, and more. (They accept computers, but you must purchase a separate TechnoTrash can). You pay cost of shipping and $6.95 for the first 20 pounds (30 cents for each pound extra).
CD Recycling Center - accepts CDs, DVDs, and cases. Pay the cost of shipping.
Office Depot - accepts all types of e-waste. Pay for a box based on size ($5-$15) and fill it, then bring back to an Office Depot.
You should also, of course, check with your local county. Many will accept at least the larger electronic components such as computers and printers.
