Consumer Critique: Avon Advanced Techniques

I recently received some Avon products to try out. They are from Avon's new hair care line, Avon Advanced Techniques. The Advanced Techniques line includes a variety of shampoos, conditioners, brushes, 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner combos, and other treatments to keep hair healthy. I actually got the color reviving shampoo and conditioner, dry ends serum, and grey root touch-up. Now, I'm not quite the right person to use these, as I don't color my hair; however, my mother does have grey hair that she periodically colors (yay for family test subjects).

For non-colored hair, the color reviving shampoo and conditioner didn't seem to do anything special. My hair was soft and healthy after washing, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, my test subject's hair was noticeably softer compared to her regular shampoo. She has sensitive skin, but the shampoo/conditioner didn't bother her at all.

The grey root touch-up is extremely easy to use and not at all messy. It looks like a mascara brush, and color goes exactly where it's supposed to go. It's a non-permanent color, and there aren't many color choices (black, brunette, light brown); however, for touch-ups that's fine.

The dry ends serum was difficult to test; I don't have dry hair and my mother's hair is short enough that her ends don't get dry. However, I had some willing volunteers to use it for me. They all reported satisfactory-to-excellent results.

If you have grey hair that you color, keep an eye out for my next giveaway! In the meantime, here's a code you can use if you shop using an eRepresentative to get free shipping for any $30+ order: JINGLE30
