Thrifty Thursday: Swapping DVDs and more

Yet another in a list of swapping sites, here comes SwitchPlanet. Swapping is free, you only pay shipping, and you can swap and chat about books, DVDs, CDs, and video games. List what you want and what you have, and receive an email when there's a swap available.

At the time this post is written, it is still in private beta mode, so if you go to the website and it still is in beta, then email friendsofBekah@lendaround.com for an invitation to join. This isn't s much of a swapping system, as it is a system to monitor loans. So you still get to keep your DVDs in the end, but the website keeps track of who has them and who wants them - and you save money on DVD rentals by finding someone in your network (i.e., your friends and neighbors) who owns the movie you want to see next - not just finding movies that other people want to get rid of.
