Website Spotlight: Garage Sales Tracker

I recently ran across a website that tracks Garage Sales called, appropriate enough, Garage Sales Tracker. What the site does is provides a place to list garage sales and holds a collection of garage sales that is searchable.

What are the advantages to using this site? If you are a seller, you can save money over typical newspaper sales rates (and can advertise for up to two months). Your listing can include images and an unlimited word count - plus if it rains on your sale day, you can change the date at no cost. If you're a buyer, it's free to search and browse sales. You can search based on location, and also on specific items that will be for sale. Driving directions are embedded in the listing, and you can contact the seller using the site to ask a question.

The site is still pretty new, so you may not find a ton of garage sales in your area (for example, there are only five in Minnesota, and none at all in some states), but as it gets more exposure (and the garage sale season ramps up later this summer) you should be able to find some nearby.

And, to help sellers know that the site was useful, if you do find a garage sale using the site and stop by, be sure to tell them that you saw it on the website!
