Parenting Pointers: De-Cluttering - Playroom and Den

Buy a set of inexpensive matching bins or baskets. Label them to make cleanup time go more quickly.

Use one basket for remotes, magazines, and the TV Guide so it's all neatly contained and easy to find.

Periodically weed out broken or outgrown toys and donate or trash them depending on the shape they're in.

Keep one basket in each room where kids commonly play to store stray toys at the end of the day.

Get in the habit of picking up each day. If kids pitch in, it only takes a few minutes, and once it's a habit, the kids will be used to it too.
