#plantaseed: Kellogg's is promoting Plant a Seed, a new campaign highlighting Frosted Flakes to help rebuild playing fields across America.
When I think of Frosted Flakes, I still remember all of the "gr-r-r-eat!" commercials from when I was little, and how they always seemed to revolve around a sports theme, so it seems appropriate that Kellogg's is choosing that cereal as the launching point for the campaign. The main point of the campaign is the emphasis on having places to be active in every neighborhood. Recognizing that many communities have budget shortfalls and lack funds to do that, Kellogg's is giving site visitors a chance to vote for their favorite field.
Thousands of sites were nominated, as could be expected. 100 were chosen as semifinalists, and based on voting (which ends May 31st) they will choose 30 to help rebuild. After May 31st, they'll continue to update the site with the transformations of the places that are chosen.
West coast readers, and people east of the Mississippi, will have choices that are closer to them than many Western states. The only Minnesota site is one up in Bemidji, for example. However, they are all deserving sites, so go check it out and vote!
