Consumer Critique: Baskin-Robbins Cakes

I've briefly posted about Baskin-Robbins Cakes before, but I just wanted to mention a few additional things about them. First of all, they aren't quite like DQ cakes. Instead of ice cream/fudgy-crunchy layer/vanilla ice cream, Baskin-Robbins puts a thick layer of ice cream on top of a layer of cake. Like DQ, they are customizable - choose Devil's Food or White Sponge cake and any flavor of ice cream on top. Baskin-Robbins also offers a Fudge Crunch cake which is very similar to the traditional DQ cake. You can also order roll cakes from Baskin-Robbins, which is a thin layer of Devil's Food cake with your choice of ice cream flavor spread on top, then rolled into a spiral. They have a wide variety of designs for any occasion - and summer is the perfect time to try one out, with a cool dessert at the end of the day! Cake prices start at $9.99.

You can also try Baskin-Robbins pies - Oreo crusts with Oreo ice cream and fudge, chocolate ice cream with cherries and whipped cream (Black Forest), or mint ice cream with fudge and whipped cream (Grasshopper). Also something that is new to me - 31 Below pies, which are made with soft serve ice cream and come in a variety of yummy-sounding flavors.

Check out all the cake possibilities at the website and try them if you have a Baskin-Robbins near you!
