I recently had the opportunity through the One2One Network to receive a copy of a new CD by Diane Birch - Bible Belt - and review it, as well as share some news and information about Diane Birch.
First of all, some of her songs are on YouTube (Nothing but a Miracle and Fire Escape) so it gives you a way to preview her. You can also preview her music through the iTunes store. She'll also be playing on David Letterman on July 22nd.
On to the review part. Her voice makes her sound older than her photos make her look. She has a soulful voice, with just a little bit of twang. Her music has simple, easy-to-understand lyrics. My biggest surprise was that for a CD called "Bible Belt" I expected more Christian undertones, and there weren't any. Instead, the lyrics revolve around themes of relationships (broken or healthy) and transitions. However, the lyrics are honest without being whiny or pretentious, and the music is easy to listen to.
I encourage you to check out her music if you're looking for some new artists to listen to!
S-Curve Records, the producer of the CD, has decided to donate $1 from each sale of the CD purchased through widgets such as the one below.
