Consumer Critique: Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunblock

My latest BzzAgent product to try was Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunblock SPF 60.

The benefits of this sunscreen are the same as any good baby sunscreen - SPF of 60, hypoallergenic, fragrance free, waterproof, and sweatproof. In addition, it is PABA and oil free, and contains PureScreen sunblocking agents (read the article for details on the benefits of PureScreen). Let me say up front that the most important thing about taking your children out in the sun is using sunscreen - any sunscreen will work, as long as you are applying it correctly and reapplying if you are out in the sun for a while. That being said, baby-specific sunscreens have some benefits, including a generally higher SPF, and are usually better for sensitive skin than some sunscreens.

I have enjoyed using P&F Sunblock. Although my toddler does not have sensitive skin, I still feel better about putting fragrance-free things on her. She didn't burn at all, and the sunscreen absorbed very quickly, without being greasy - which meant it took very little time to apply (which was great for a busy, impatient toddler). I do recommend Neutrogena Baby Sunblock, especially if you can find it on sale/with a coupon (since it does tend to be a little pricier than generic brands - but it's worth it since it is not greasy at all).
