Parenting Pointers: Summer Learning

Here are some tips to keep your kids using their brains all summer long.

- Find out if your local bookstore, library, bank, etc. sponsors a reading program to keep kids in the reading habit.
- Let your kids practice making change and paying for things when you go shopping.
- Include your kids in baking. Have them help you double or halve a recipe.
- Sign up for a science program. Some state park systems have Junior Naturalist or related programs. REI also has an adventure club for kids.

Family Education has many more ideas to stop summer brain drain.
