In case you didn't already know about it, I wanted to highlight the MELSA Museum Adventure Pass program. Basically, you go to any library and check out a pass using your library card. Some passes admit 2 people for free, others admit up to 4 people, and some come with additional discounts.
Just a note: most of the participating sites are paying for the admission themselves (meaning that they aren't getting reimbursed from any place for the extra visitors). So if you really like a place, consider supporting it by making a paid visit later.
