Website Spotlight: One Hour Parties

Through TwitterMoms I just found out about One Hour Parties, a new party planning helper.

One Hour Parties sells a variety of party kits on their website, designed to go with various food-related activities and themes. Examples include different types of ice cream sundae kits, cookie or cupcake decorating kits, specialty beverages, and holidays. Some of the themes include a Hawaiian Luau theme, sports, movies, carnivals, and more. They'll also act as a consultation service for larger parties or parties that don't fit a theme (such as company picnics or specific milestones).

Like anything, you pay extra for the convenience compared to what you'd pay if you bought the ingredients for the kits and the decorations and then assembled everything yourself. Some items - like the ice cream and cookie trays - are quite a bit more expensive. However, compared to what many people spend on parties, One Hour Parties can be very affordable additions to your celebrations. And if you're swamped for time, then having the kits pre-packaged can be a very good time-saver.

There are minimum orders for many of the products; some are 8, some are higher. So be sure to plan accordingly if you decide to buy from them. You can also get parties catered, or party staff, if you'll need those services.

If you're interested in becoming a party planner, you can also check out their franchising site (only available in some states).
