World Wisdom: Reducing Materials

There are a lot of ways you can reduce the amount of materials your family uses, without making a drastic change in lifestyle:

- Print double-sided. If you make a mistake in printing or have a lot of one-sided printouts, use the backs for coupons or other things that don't require a formal look.
- Go cloth for napkins and cleaning. We use paper towels in the bathroom, but everywhere else we clean with cloth rags.
- Use rechargeable batteries. They can be reused multiple times and when they do eventually die, they can be recycled.
- Repurpose objects to make simple toys. I use pouches and tins that some products come in as toys from my toddler. I also use paper that comes in packages as coloring paper.
