In today's world, it can be so tempting to go about our business with a minimum of personal interaction. For the next week, try a different tactic. Be polite. Not just civil, but polite. If you notice something different about your bank teller, comment on it. If your retail store clerk is wearing cool earrings or a button, ask about them. You'd be surprised what a difference it will have on the people around you to inject mundane tasks with a little bit extra happiness.
