Website Spotlight: My Heritage

The first time I had heard of My Heritage was when I used the Celebrity Collage when a bunch of my Facebook friends were doing Doppelgängers. I didn't really explore the site at all then, but I have now.

The site is actually set up to help you create family trees and share those trees and photos. It also allows you to set up a family website and run genealogy searches. Then there's a Celebrities & Fun section that does a celebrity collage, a celebrity morph, and a really fun Look-Alike Meter where you put in pictures of a baby and his or her parents and it identifies which parent the baby resembles more.

I tried it, and both of our girls looked slightly more like my husband - but we're talking 3% and 4%, not statistically significant. To make sure it was as accurate as possible, I tried for photos where my husband and I had similar smiles (as opposed to one open-mouthed and one close-mouthed smile). It was kind of fun to do, and since neither of us really knew which our daughters resembled, it was nice to get the confirmation this way!
