Consumer Critique: 4Troops

4Troops is a group made up of four former military personnel with a great sound. I received a CD from Sony as a thank-you for reviewing and highlighting their work.

I was pleased with the album. There's one female and three male voices, and the sound is very rich - not "boy band" sound, but full, mature harmonies. It's easy to listen to, and the songs have a wide appeal. There are some patriotic songs (Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue, for example) but you don't have to be military to appreciate the CD. I like their version of "Bless the Broken Road," and found several new songs to enjoy as well.

You can find more information about the group in this interview, or at the website above.

Some additional news - Sony will donate $0.50 for each album sold, with the donation split between The American Legion, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) and the USO. Plus, you can save $2 by ordering through this Amazon link using code 4troopsm (through May 10th) - that makes the album a great price, and you're helping support military families!

The album will be available in stores on May 11th.
