Parenting Pointers: Date Night

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 20th Century Fox. All opinions are 100% mine.

Many parents will tell you it's important to get a date night once in a while with your spouse, to keep connected. It's hard to squeeze in time around family obligations, but it's vital to maintain a quality relationship with your husband. There are a lot of things to do on date nights that won't break the bank - a movie in the cheap theater if there's one nearby, going out to a restaurant that's inexpensive but still sit-down like a sandwich or coffee shop, going for a walk in a nearby park, etc. And baby-sitters can be expensive, especially if you have a lot of kids, but you can always take turns with a neighbor or friend - you watch their kids one weekend evening, and they watch yours the next. By swapping you can help another couple get a much-needed evening out, while saving you both money.

There's a great Date Night Movie that will be out on April 9th (this Friday) that would make a cute option for couples - one that I think my husband and I will be watching when we get a chance.

In the movie, a ho-hum suburban couple go on their weekly dinner date and find themselves in the middle of a whole lot more! The couple is played by Steve Carrell and Tina Fey. I read an interview with them in Parade, and there's also an article about the movie in the NY times. I think they're both funny, even if I don't always like all of the material they're involved with, and I'm looking forward to this movie. Obviously since it hasn't opened yet I don't know much about it, but the tagline is "One ordinary couple. One little white lie. " and apparently the excitement has something to do with a case of mistaken identity.Visit my sponsor: Date Night
