Consumer Critique: Sarah MacLachlan

Sarah MacLachlan will be releasing her first album in seven years tomorrow, June 15th. I received a complimentary copy from One 2 One Network as a pre-release review.

Sarah MacLachlan is pretty popular, so I'm sure this album will be too. In over 20 years of singing, she's sold 20 million recordings, and every album has been certified gold, platinum, or multi-platinum.

I loved Sarah MacLachlan when I was in high school and college. I've kind of quit listening to her very often, but now with this new album, I've got fresh songs to listen to - and songs that don't disappoint me in terms of sounding like the Sarah I loved, but also without sounding tired and stale. She has a clear sound, easy to listen to, very expressive and real. There's a piano cut of one of the songs too, which I love - being a pianist myself, I can appreciate when an artist makes good use of the instrument, besides just chords:)

Plus, Lilith Fair will be returning this summer. When it ran from 1997-1999 it raised over $10 million for women's charities, so it's a great event to support.

You can buy the single "Loving You is Easy" on iTunes or Amazon, or the whole album at Barnes & Noble or Amazon.

You can find out more about Sarah MacLachlan and her music at her Facebook page or by following her on Twitter. You can also view a performance on Jay Leno or Dancing with the Stars.
