Healthy Habits: Summer Safety (Part 2)

I've been asked to share some more summer safety tips, this time from the Child Abuse Prevention Center.

Bike Safety:
- Always wear a helmet (but make sure to take it off when playing on playgrounds).
- Follow the rules of the road.
- Ride an appropriately-sized bike.
- Wear additional protective gear when needed (for example, in bike/skate parks).

Water Safety:
- Follow the ABCs: Adult Supervision, Barriers, and CPR & Classes.

Heat Safety:
- Never leave a child alone in a car.
- Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
- Use sunscreen (and apply as necessary).
- Stay hydrated.
