Have you found yourself becoming too pessimistic or negative? Would you like to try to lighten your mood? Try some of these techniques to become happier and more content.
- Learn the concept of mindfulness. Instead of looking forward to something or reminiscing about when things were better, focus on where you are and what you are doing in the present.
- Make an effort to find two chances to laugh or be happy each day. Make a joke, do a random act of kindness, whistle or hum, or act like a kid.
- Let yourself make mistakes. If you have permission to be less than perfect, then when you make mistakes (which you will), they won't drag your mood down as much.
