Consumer Critique: Wilson Phillips Christmas in Harmony

I must have been really out of touch with pop music in the 90s, I think, because I hadn't heard of the female trio Wilson Phillips until I got the chance to do this review. Christmas in Harmony is recorded by the award-winning trio of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Chynna Phillips and produced by Glen Ballard, who was the main producer for their debut album and has also worked with Michael Jackson and Alanis MOrissette. Wilson Phillips' debut album sold over 10 million copies worldwide and had three #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

Sony MASTERWORKS / DRW Entertainment is releasing this Christmas CD with the trio at a completely different stage in life. This CD focuses on the joy and love of the holiday season. It includes Christmas favorites like "Silver Bells" and "The Christmas Song," as well as some original Christmas works.

I love Christmas music, so this was fun to listen to. I also like hearing good female voices, especially with well-written (or arranged) music. I loved the original Christmas songs on this album. "Our Prayer" was my favorite track, but I could listen to any of them over and over. This is something I will definitely be playing on my iPod throughout the Christmas season!

Disclosure: I received a free download of the Christmas in Harmony album to facilitate this review.
