Consumer Critique: Episencial

I recently was able to host a Mommy Party sponsored by Episencial. Episencial is a baby-care product manufacturer that focuses on three steps - bathe, nurture, and protect - and being healthy for kids and the environment. The products are free of fragrances, parabens, and phthalates, and are packaged in recyclable and sustainable packaging (which are just adorable with the very hungry caterpillar), while being manufactured with solar power. How's that for really living up to the eco-friendly name? Plus, the website has a section devoted to skin care education.

The Episencial products basically cover everything you'd need in baby skin care: sunblock, bath, and lotions. As the host, I got to try out samples of all of the products, and feel that they really do live up to the claims they make on the website. The nurturing balm works great for diaper rashes, and also for helping out with other rashes. The face balm protects my toddler's cheeks when she's outside very well - when I put it on, her face doesn't get nearly so red and chapped. The bubble bath and foaming wash were gentle on skin and even on eyes while rinsing the girls' heads. I was really happy with them, and will add them to my list of favorite eco-friendly baby care products.

Episencial products are sold at a variety of stores, and you can use the store locator to find one near you. You can also buy Episencial at Amazon.com

Disclosure: I received samples of Episencial products to facilitate the party and review.
