Healthy Habits: Workout Recovery

Did you know that chocolate milk is almost twice as effective as sports drinks for refueling muscles? It's true; it's the result of a study published in 2006. Chocolate milk contains protein for muscles, carbs and B vitamins for energy, calcium and vitamin D for bones, potassium for fluid balance, and water for hydration. So if you prefer drinking it to sports drinks, then go for it! It does have more calories, but in my experience, it also fills you up more than sports drinks do.
