Website Spotlight: Factor Tree
As a math teacher, I always like to explore tools for increasing math skill. So I was really excited to participate in this BzzAgent campaign. I got a free one-month trial to use with my daughter. She's only in preschool, but is pretty advanced, so she was able to use it productively.
The Factor Tree is designed for students in K-6th grades. It uses adaptive learning, which means that it self-adjusts to your child's level. You start with a pre-test, and students get to immediately see why things are wrong when they test. Parents can choose how often their kids test. Then you can filter out the correct answers so you can help walk your child through incorrect answers. Immediate feedback makes a huge difference. The format is basically taking 20-question tests. Each question, students can click for a hint to get a tutorial.
The site isn't flashy with a lot of games, but it is very straightforward and easy to use. Plus, you can check it out for free with no credit card required for the trial. Enter code BzzAgent when you sign up.
